How do teachers make sure their students arent using the answer?
I actually taught students who used the answers at the back of the book as they were evidently intended to be used. They did the problems, checked the back of the book to see whether theyd understood, and asked for clarification when their answers were different. They were undergraduates, but they were serious about learning something. I didnt realize at the time that their behavior was unusual. Of course they got no grade for their answers, but they did have some confidence that when the exams came along, they would know the material and do well.
